  1. AUGUST RUSH did not fare so well, so I guess I was proud to be in the positive minority on that one. I was a bit surprised how many folks felt it was a “beautiful piece of crap.”
    ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD did very well with the group, most all agreeing with me that this seldom-seen Western was certainly worth a look. It will become a cult film.
    THE SOLOIST did much better with the group than I had anticipated. Post discussion I came up from 3.5 to 4, but too late to change my vote. Because it was a true story, and there was no fairy tale ending was its strong suit, I guess.
