I saw Volver last night. I liked it up til the moment I discovered that mom wasn’t a ghost after all. I don’t know why it disappointed me so that she was still alive. I really enjoyed the idea that an entire village believed in her existence. And I liked that she tried to right her wrongs.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the kissing of hellos. I liked the loudness of it. It seemed like the volume of the kiss was a sign of love or respect. If the kiss wasn’t so loud, then the love wasn’t either.
