THE CHUMSCRUBBER @ ORIGIN 23

Fellow Members:

We are fortunate to have arranged for a second screening this month. Mohsen M. set up a viewing time at ORIGIN 23, on the corner of 6th and Union. We will watch the #2 pick for the month, THE CHUMSCRUBBER (2005). This interesting dramatic comedy is a feature film debut for director Arie Posin. This is a perfect companion piece for the other TFC pick, AMERICAN BEAUTY (1999), which was the debut feature film for director Sam Mendes. Steven Spielberg, and his DREAMWORKS production company were solidly behind BEAUTY, and he had read the Indie script  for CHUMSCRUBBER as well, and felt it had much the same balance of drama and humor set in Suburbia.

THE CHUMSCRUBBER (2005) stars Jamie Bell [BILLY ELLIOT (2000)],  and Camilla Belle [THE BALLAD OF JACK & ROSE (2005)]. The supporting cast includes Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes, Allison Janney, John Heard, Rita Wilson, Carrie-Ann Moss, and William Fichtner.

Gather at ORIGIN 23 around 6:30pm if you want a coffee or a goodie. The film will screen at 7pm. A plus for us is that this time of year it will be dark out at that time.
