Presentation at UWT about Music in Film

There is a lecture scheduled for this coming Thursday at UWT that might be of interest to some of us:

Presentation by Dr. Claudia Gorbman
"Listening to Movies"
Thursday, December 3rd, 12:30 p.m.
Location: Room 320 ("Tacoma Room") in the GWP wing of the Academic Building
on campus at UWT in downtown Tacoma.

Dr. Gorbman is a Professor of Film Studies in the Interdisciplinary Arts and
Sciences program. She has written widely on music and sound in film. This
lecture, which will include film clips, considers what music does and how it
can mean, by exploring two approaches to film music, the rhetorical and the
aesthetic. How do you listen to movies, and what do you hear?
