A film written & directed by Brian De Palma.

It was inspired by Antonioni’s BLOW UP, & the idea came to him when he was working on the sound editing for his film DRESSED TO KILL.

The cinematography was done by master lenser, Vilmos Zsigmond, who I was lucky enough to work with on CINDERELLA LIBERTY.

The score was done by Pino Donaggio, who works a lot with De Palma. The director considers the music for this film the best he ever heard.

Donaggio has scored over 200 films since 1959, including CARRIE (1976), DAMNED IN VENICE (1978), DRESSED TO KILL (1980), THE HOWLING (1981), BODY DOUBLE (1984), RAISING CAIN (1992).

Rotten Tomatoes rated the film at 90% Critic’s Approval & 80% Audience Approval. IMDb rated it at 7.4 stars.

De Palma originally wanted Al Pacino for the lead. Quentin Tarantino cast Travolta in PULP FICTION based on his role in BLOW OUT.
